Hello!
I've been playing with texture and 3D papercraft elements.....and came up with this.
The base is a chipboard sheet, my favourite 6" square size! I started off by cutting a sheet of dotty paper the same size as the chipboard. I ripped into the paper on both sides, then used a skewer to roll the paper around to give the rolled back look. A slip of more dotty paper under the ripped part completes the look.
I glued all the paper down onto the chipboard sheet base. The next step was to scrape texture paste through a stencil to get the harlequin detail....
Once that was dry, I added a little gesso here and there, just to create an uneven look, then got the spray inks out!
I have to admit that I have no clue as to how I ended up with the colours I have on this panel.... I used Dylusions Calypso Teal on the right hand side, and Dylusions Cherry Pie on the left. How the top bit ended up nearly black in places I will never know!
No matter, I liked how it turned out!
I added in some little details like the stars, and the red clay heart....
A Chit Chat sticker finishes off the panel!
Have a great weekend folks.....:)

Wow, love love love!! I can never get the piece peeping out from rolled paper to look right (try again right?).. Great to use sprays (again, do use them but rubbish with blending bit - why do I craft again? Lol). I am not in know (pretty obvious by now) but think black area comes about from 2 things... Drying sprays before next applied & whatever is underneath coming through causing a change to colours. What do I know tho', am sure you'd thought of this.
ReplyDeleteYour texture paste harlequin is gorgeous & all additions too!! Thanks for continuing to inspire (one day I May even achieve something, lol..). Enjoy the cool of indoors, I too can't go 'out there' but nice to see... :)) oops, written a book again.. eek :)
This is fabulous love it all, what mould did you use for the heart please,
ReplyDeleteHi Dawn!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment! That mould is a very old Krafty Lady one I've had for years, but I recently made myself one very similar using a heart shaped earring (of all things!) and some Mould N Pour mould making compound! xx
