Winter Flower Canvas

Good Morning!

Georgie here today and I'm sharing with you a mini canvas I have made made using loads of Prima goodies!

I had one last Prima Resin Flower (Patty) left, I love these by the way, and can't wait to get more! I sprayed her with Prima Color Blooms in Summer Sky, Iris and Pearl White. The petals absorb the paints perfectly. The base was super easy to do, I ripped some papers from 7 Dots Studio Messy Head 6x6 Paper Collection, using Art Basics Soft Matte Gel to lay it down with and then cover a layer of it over the top.

Then I did a very light coat of Art Basics White Gesso, and stencilled over with Art Basics Modelling Paste using the a Finnabar's Stencil.

I included two pictures here of this little lovely flower, to try and show you the gorgeous shimmer and sparkle. Of course, the opportunity to use some Finnabair Glitter Glass always makes me happy and as I was going with wintery theme colours I chose 'Midnight', and topped it off with Finnabair's Sugar Glitter in White

I love the Micro Beads by Finnabar, for this canvas I used 'Splash'. Once dried, I went back over with the bloom sprays. The leaves are from Prima's Wood Icons in a Box and painted with Art Basics Gesso.

I added some torn strips to the sides with some modelling paste and paint drips to continue the theme.

Finished up with ink distressing the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

So that's me for today, I will be back soon with another project. Hope you all have a fan-tab-u-lous weekend!

What a Story - Layout

Hi my lovelies,

Georgie here today and sharing my latest layout - What a Story.

I'm going to list all products used at the end of this page  :)

Lots of different elements used to build up this composition. I played a little with different colours to build a grunge look to contrast the soft photo.

Started with some stencilling mixing paste with Mica Powder, then added some stamping. Also with the stamping I went around the outside to keep the eye focussing inward.

Lots of gorgeous elements to help build layers, and splatters of white gesso to tie everything in.

Adored playing with Mica Powders, some of them the new release from Finnabair.

Here is the list of items used:

7 Dots Studio:

Finnabair Line:

Prima Embellishments:

That's my post for today, and hope it proves some inspiration for you.
Hugs

You looking at me?

Hello!
A little bit of 3D assemblage from me today.... made from the packaging from some wood shapes!
(I think I must have been listing slightly when I took that pic....put your head on one side and it'll look better!)
I painted the box (it is a Prima Icons box) with a wash of white paint, then edged it slightly with black ink.
I stamped some text onto card, then cut it into squares to fit the back of the squares in the box. Lots of trimming needed as the squares aren't actually square!!! I stamped some Stampotique ladies and coloured them with markers, keeping to a red theme!
The heart is also Stampotique, I stamped it onto red painted card, then added the text (Stampotique again) before cutting out. A good coat of Glossy Accents gives the shiny look...
The box is standing on button stacks..
(bit of a blurry pic there, I'm beginning to think I was a little tipsy during this photo session!)
I added another stack to the top..
A nice way of using packaging to create more art!
See you soon,
Trish xxx

I Love You To The Moon - GDT Riikka Kovasin

Happy Valentine's Day! Riikka here again with another guest design post and I have a little present for you - a video.

Who am I? My name is Riikka Kovasin, I'm a Finnish mixed media style scrapbooker with a passion to have my fingers inked on weekly basis. I'm happiest when I can get messy with different paint media and create a piece of memory keeping at the same time. What a perfect combination! My blog is called Paperiliitin. Please come and say hi!

For my second post I created a Valentine themed layout about my two daughters. The picture is an old one, but I really loved the topic and the angle of it. It shows them playing an afternoon tea party.

The quote from the 7 Dots Studio "Messy Head" collection suited the layout perfectly as I love them both to moon and back. I also used other patterned papers from the collection. As one of the journaling style cards I wanted to use on the layout was purple, I added some purple details to the layout. If you want to see how the layout came to life, please watch the video underneath.

Thank you for looking! I hope I have inspired you!

Valentine's Cards - GDT Riikka Kovasin

Hello there! Riikka here with a few guest design creations - first of all these Valentine's inspired cards.

I created these four cards using the gorgeous 7 Dots Studio "Messy Head" collection. It's soft tones and pink shades are perfect for Valentine's Day themed creations! The card basis are cut from sheet of Bazzill's Card Shoppe papers.

The main pieces of the cards are cut from a 12x12" paper and then layered with pieces of other patterned papers and embellishments. All of the cards have a common background style, a piece of patterned paper stamped with Finnabair's doily stamp using Prima Chalk Edgers and Archival Inks. The other thing the cards have in common are splashes of pink Glimmer Glaze.

I used different kinds of embellishments in the cards. They all have a bit of thread underneath the embellishments, but then the different cards have different moods. I used Mechanicals in some, Prima wood icons in some and 7 Dots Studio stickers and die-cuts in others. Please see the supply list at the bottom of the post, after some of the detail shots.

Thank you for looking!

A journey into Project Life.

Although I'm not totally new to Project Life, last year I stuck to my guns and created my own version in an A4 style. This year I've decided to keep a regular 12 x 12 format album which gives me loads more surface to play with. I still want to make it my own style and will be making my own journaling cards which I've done here.

This is my title page.

I've used the Finnley collection by Glitz Design for my cards cutting them into pocket size pieces.

I used the stickers from the same collection and Glitz washi tape which co-ordinates perfectly with the collection.

I finished off my cards by rounding the corners and adding some doodled borders with a black Sakura Micron pen.

I've also used a Prima veneer piece from the Wood Icons collection, this one is actually left over from the Christmas box.

I hope to be able to show and tell more of my Project Life pages in the future.

Happy New 2014
