Blooming spray inks!

Hello!
Thought I'd have a play with spray inks today....
Bit of an experiment, but I really like how it turned out! Now, spray inks and Kraft card (a size 10 tag in the case) don't really go together, the Kraft 'sucks up' any kind of vibrant colour. So, I thought, why not try stencilling with gesso, THEN spraying? The inks will be vibrant on the white gesso, but subtle on the cardstock........
I started off by adding a touch of black stamping to the Kraft tag....
I'm loving that alphabet Darkroom Door background! The stamping was my base layer, so when that was dry I scraped white gesso through the circle stencil. Left it to dry, then sprayed the whole tag with Dylusions spray inks...
For some reason the inks almost resisted the edges of the stencilled circles, giving a white highlighted look. Happy accident, no idea if that will work again!
The large flower has almost the same treatment... I stamped it in white (paint!) onto black card, then sprayed it. I like the subtle dotty look, but you could just as easily go mad and spray lots more for a more 'solid' feel to the colour....
As you have stamped onto black card, when you cut it out you automatically have a nice black border!
The final touch is a chit chat sticker..
From the 'seasonal' sticker selection rather than the regular... I found the seasonal one has loads of words you can use anytime as well as the more expected 'Easter' 'Halloween' stickers. Well worth a buy, I think!
Off to try and clean my hands... why oh why do I decide to do something so messy when I've a governors meeting at school shortly? They think I'm a little strange at the best of times, having bright purple hands isn't going to help!!!
See you soon,
Love Trish xxxxx
