Time After Time

Hello....
Are you sitting comfortably? Maybe you should be lying down in case you faint.....
I did a Clean and Simple card!!!!!!
First time without big grubby fingerprints all over it was well!
OK, so there are parts of it that DID involve getting the paints and inks out, but I still think its waaaay cleaner and simpler (is that a word?!) than usual!
I used the Prima writers tape as my banner strips. This is basically thin strips of sticky backed canvas, great for creating interesting designs and even faux washi tape with! I cut the strips, then peeled off the backing and stuck them to my craft sheet. Nice and flat so they can be painted and stamped , but can still be peeled of the sheet and be sticky!
I used the Stick Candy colour of the Jenni Bowlin paint dabber as my base colour  (um, why 'stick candy'??? ) I dried it quickly using the heat tool (anything with a sticky back won't like excessive heat), then stamped some dots with Pool Adirondack paint dabber, and the edges of a large circle with Lettuce paint dabber.  I used the Jenni Bowlin dictionary stamp with black ink, then added a little more blue colour with the grid pattern from the time book set of stamps.
I then peeled the strips off the craft sheet, and stuck them down to a square of white card that I had stitched around the edges.
I added a simple stamped image (Midge- Stampotique)..
The final touch were some Remnant Rub Ons....
Not sure I will be able to keep this up though, it was really stressful sticking the strips to the card...was convinced painty fingermarks would go all over the clean white space!
Give me mess any day!

Nests are best.

Hello there, well we're into March already and here the temperatures have gone well up from -3 or 4 a week ago to 12 yesterday. Amazing. Of course it got me out into the garden to tidy up and I was so happy to find little shoots peeking up at me. My thoughts are well and truly into Spring (my favourite season) by now and crafting spring is so inspiring with the bright colours and flowers.

Tando do a packet of three little chipboard houses which are just adorable and I did intend to decorate just one for a show and tell post here but once I'd finished one I had to use all three.  I turned them all into little spring birdhouses just for a bit of fun and colour. I die cut a little hole in the front and used acrylic paint to add colour.  I also used a resist canvas birdie by Prima colouring him with Mr Hueys spray ink. The flags are simply pieces of coloured washi tape doubled over a piece of thread then cut into triangles.

The two smaller ones are made in the same way but I pushed a bbq stick through the bottom so I could push them into a plant pot. I covered the roof of one with book page and used more washi tape to decorate the bottoms. The words are made using a dymo labeler.
