12 Designers of Christmas * Designer 3* Gez Butterworth

Here we are at Day 5 and today we're showcasing the massively talented Gez Butterworth otherwise known as Gezzy B. Gez was a member of the Sprinkle team right at the beginning and is hugely multi talented. She has a great eye for detail and I love what she does.

For our 12 Designers inspiration piece she's sent us this gorgeous plant stick which would look so cute in a plant pot by the front door. I want one :)

She's given me detailed instructions how to make it so if you fancy making your own here they are;

Apply white gesso to a Tando chipboard plaque, dry thoroughly.
Stamp Stampotique snowflakes using Distress ink onto plaque for the background
Adhere Jenni Bowlin skinny alphas to the plaque
Colour sleigh with Inktense pencils, Sakura pens
Add embellishments to the plaque
Write (please stop...) using Inktense pencil
Edge the plaque with gold Ranger dabber
Adhere silver tinsel.

So here it is, it's so cute.

If you want to see more of Gez's work her blog is here at Three Little Birds.
I hope you've been inspired here. Don't forget to leave a comment on this and all of the Designers posts to be in with the chance to win the big prize at the end.

Call back tomorrow for more inspiration.

Recycled & reused !!

I've had such good fun making a card from my ever growing box of paper scraps, score!!

It was so simple, I am going to try this again!

Is it just me or do others save the beautiful packaging when they buy new crafting supplies... I couldn't throw this packaging away so I used it as the starting point for my card!

There is a lovely collection of Prima goodies over in the SHOP. I decided to use the packaging from the lovely, scrumptious Say It In Crystals yummy, embellishments!!

Using scraps of Tissue Paper by Tim Holtz, patterned scrap papers and old pages from a dictonary! Each were matted and layered to produce a simple card. Using a couple of stamped images from Stampotique Originals.

 Bella, Bella...

Happy creating, Gez

Spots of colour!

Good morning, Gez here in a rather wet & windy part of England today!!!

Gosh, we're having some rain!

I am excited to be sharing an on going project with you today that will just keep growing & growing!

If like me when I get new supplies I can't wait to try them out... I have decided to catalogue them and keep them altogether on a metal book ring...

I've got 4 tags to share with you today using some of my favourite products from A sprinkle of imagination.

First of all I stamped a brand NEW stamp from Stampotique Originals, (it's from the Circle Cube by Daniel Torrente) Vicki stocks lots and lots of their stamps and can order any that you see online. I have used an Archival Ink Pad for stamping which are both water and fade resistant and a Sakura Pigma Micron pen for labelling.

I managed to fit the circle stamp 8 times onto one tag as you can see using various products.

On my first tag I have used acrylic paints, sometimes it is so much better to see the paint on cardstock rather by just looking at the pot or tube as you get a better idea of the finished look when it's dry.

This is true of all the different products, so I went ahead and had great fun using Distress Inks,

and also,

 Inktense pencilsby Derwent

Here is my finished swatch...

 for now!

I can keep on adding to my ring and so on!

Thank you for calling, Gez

Ti Amo!!

Don't you just love a short cut!! I'm back with another quick card this week altho, at first glance it probably doesn't look like a quick card!!

I love creating my own backgrounds, getting out the gesso, paints, spray inks, texture paste, the lot!

Sometimes however, it's nice to get a little help to acheive that look you might have planned in your head.. especially if time is short! Want to know how?

For the background of this card I have used an already inky piece of patterned scrapbook paper from Glitz Design. I used a 6x6 sheet from the Wild & Free pad. These papers are scaled down versions of the larger 12x12 size and are perfect for card making.

I used a selection of my favourite stamps from Stampotique Originals and some of my favourite ink pads. The choice is yours for the taking...

Here is my quick background...

Next, I stamped my main images and sentiment onto watercolour cardstock. I decided to colour the images this week using Distress Inks and a fine paint brush.

All that was left then was to add some finishing touches using a white Sakura Gelly Roll Pen.

My finished card...

Thank you for calling. Wishing you a lovely weekend. Gez

Bee Happy!

It's been quite a while since I shared some inspiration with you here on the Creative Blog, moving house and major surgery has really thrown a spanner into my creative time but I am happy to be sharing a less is more card with you today, holding back to temptation to add some doodling.

Here is my card...

Card ingredients!

Tando Creative Distorted Hive Mask
Stampotique Big Bee
Distress Inks ~ Spiced Marmalade & Mustard Seed

I placed the stencil directly onto my card and sponged through the stencil using Distress Inks. The bee image was stamped directly onto the card first of all using the second stamped images (so it appears fainter) and then once onto spare cardstock so that I could cut out the bee and add as a 3D embellishment.

I picked up a little of the Distress Inks left on the stencil with a paint brush to colour in the bee and generated a sentiment on computer. Something I'm going to try and bee a little more often! ;-)

Have a great weekend. Gez

Spooky altered envelope!

It's been a while since I last made an altered envelope and with the spooky season upon us I thought it would be fun to send some happy mail to my daughter away at University!

I started with a simple background using Distress Ink pads. Then I stamped the 'Abstract Foilage' stamp in the centre to form a rectangle for the address label again using Distress Ink and some white Gesso.. the 'Numeric' stamp and the 'Web' from Stampotique Originals were then stamped onto the envelope using Distress Inks for a muted look. The gorgeous Miguel Has A Gift brand NEW from Stampotique Originals was stamped straight onto the envelope using Jet Black Archival ink pad from Ranger. A little doodling with a black and white Sakura Pigma Micron Pen and my envelope is ready for sending!

 Thank you for calling, Gez

Pumpkin Atc

Hi good morning from a cold and wintery Lancashire, England! It's rather blustery here today, raining and blowing a gale.. someone said we are due lots of snow in November.. I do hope this isn't so..

This morning I've an Atc to share with you..

The background was created using Distress Ink by Ranger and a few water splatters. The gorgeous pumpkins and lil man are both designed by Daniel Torrente for Stampotique Originals.

I coloured the stamped images using Distress Inks and added some fine details using both a black and white Sakura Pigma Micron Pen.

Thank you for calling today, keep warm wherever you are,

Love travels... Tag by Gez

This week I've created a tag using some of the gorgeous papers by {Glitz Design} called {Sunshine In My Soul}.

These papers are really too nice to cut into, but I took a deep breath!! Hope you like my tag!

I had so much fun making this tag ♥

The papers were mainly pieced together and adhered to the tag using {Matte Multi Medium} my go to glue everytime!

The sentiment is a stamp by {Stampotique Originals} along with the swirly twirls.
I added white ink using a {Posca Paint Pen} and blinged them up with some gorgeous {Prima Crystals}.

Thank you for calling and leaving a comment if you get the chance.

Which direction? Tag by Gez!

Hi Gez here, I've had great fun playing with paints and masks and getting messy!

I started with a piece of brown packaging, nothing like having a good old rumage through the recycling box! I laid the stencil on the card and applied, paints and inks, removed the stencil and added some doodling along with some gorgeous Tando arrows which were painted. The words are computer generated.

List of products used:
Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paints
Dr Ph. Martin's Bombay Indian Inks (for drips and splatters!)
Tando Creative Mini Arrows
Posca Paint Pens
Julie Fei-Fan Balzer Blazonry stencil

Hope you like my tag! Happy creating, Gez

Heffalump collage tag!

Hi there, it's Gez here today! I am delighted to be sharing a tag I've made for you this week.

A sprinkle of imagination have a great choice of scrapbooking papers in store, along with a fab selection of paints, pens and other goodies.. I love browsing the store!

Isn't he... just the cutest heffalump!

I started out with using a sheet of patterned paper from the Yours Truly range called Polka by Glitz Design. I simply cut a tag shape around the elphant and ran it through my sewing machine.. I also added scraps from a couple of other sheets.. you know those tiny pieces that you save and never want to throw away!!

I used the reverse side of the Polka sheet, I love double sided paper as you get more for your money! The word 'LOVE' comes from a sheet called Ephemera also by Glitz Design, I have had so much mileage from this sheet!

To finish the tag, I added a couple of Prima Crystals and a piece of dyed muslin cloth for the tie.

Many thanks for calling and leaving a comment if you get the chance.

French Country magnetic notepad

I don't know if it's the same in your house but we are always looking for something to write a quick note on.. I've come up with the idea of having a handy notepad to keep on the fridge door..

I started out with a chipboard sheet and ran it through my Bind-It-All before giving it a generous coating of white Gesso.

I then painted the chipboard using Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paints. I love how creamy they are and only needed to use one coat, a little goes a long wayy..

I wanted to keep a grungy effect and ran through the paint with a dry brush as it was drying..

I then added white dots using a Posca Paint Pen and then set to work building up a decoration using some of the gorgeous, gorgeous papers from Graphic 45's French Country Collection. The little flag banner is from a Jenni Bowlin sticker sheet.. they come blank so you can add you own message.

My kitchen has a pine/country feel to it so these papers work perfectly, I can see more projects to come using these fab papers!

Everything was given a generous coating of Modge Podge ... my NEW addiction.. everthing, EVERYTHING in sight atm is getting a coat.. I love this for sealing projects.

My finished notepad! I added a length of cloth and a pencil so it can't 'just' disappear... (to where all the hair bobbles go to... in our house!!!) some notepaper and a sticky magnet to the reverse side and it's already to go onto the fridge door..

Thank you for calling and leaving a comment if you get the chance.
                                                                      Happy Tuesday, Gez

Art Journal Calendar pages..

This year I am working my calendar pages in the large Dylusions Creative Journal and looking forward to getting the smaller one too!

I love this time of year, watching all the leaves turn to gold! and so with anticipation I used that as the colour inspiration for my September pages!

The double spread was first coated with a layer of Gesso to help seal the pages. Then I used some of the gorgeous acrylic paints from Claudine Hellmuth's Studio Paints range. I love how creamy these paints spread across the pages.

I used 'found' objects to create some interest.. like bottle top lids, an old plastic store card and a piece of plastic canvas.. then sprayed Dylusions Ink Spray through a stencil by Dina Wakley called Mini Roman Letters and left the pages to dry..

I am looking forward to adding the little date squares and finishing off the pages with some rubber stamping!

Midnight in Paris tag!

Good morning, Gez here sharing a tag I made for my daughter.. we are in the process of deciding whether to visit Paris or Florence.. I think we might just have to do both!!

I started with a plain {black tag} size No.8, stamped and inked the background word stamp from the {Papillon} Tim Holtz Rubber Stamp set onto the tag. I didn't mind the little white speckles as I thought they look like tiny stars and I wanted a shabby finish to the tag..

Next I stamped the Effel Tower stamp onto black Glitz Design Color Me Happy {Chalkboard} cardstock which has a nice chalky old fashioned blackboard appeal to it (I can see many uses for that paper!)

To finish off the tag I used a butterfly stamp from the {Papillon} set and stamped it onto Claudine Hellmuth's white {Sticky-Back Canvas} using {Jet Black} Archival ink pad and coloured the butterfly randomly with {Distress Stains} I also added tiny dots of Ranger Liquid Pearls in a line down the centre of the butterfly to create a body and added a flick of {Funky Fuchsia} Dylusions ink spray to add to the grunge effect!

The heart and words 'someday' were cut from Glitz Design Color Me Happy {cardstock}

Thank you for calling, I hope you like my tag ♥

Zumba anyone??

Good morning! Gez here sharing an art journal page with you today.. totally inspired by my newest venture to get fit!

This lil guy {Jammin} is me... each and every Wednesday afternoon.. (not this week though as I'm struggling with tonsilitis :( I can be found in the local gym!

Yes, I've joined in the Zumba craze... strange I can do the feet bit or the top half bit... but try and put them both together!!!!!

I'm NOT giving up, I WILL get it one day so I tend to dance like no one is watching..

My page is completed in one of the gorgeous (Moleskine} journals available in the shop..I have used acrylic paints and oil pastels for the background and add some {Composer} tissue paper to the background.. I love how it just blended right into the background..

Jammin from {Stampotique Originals}was stamped onto white cardstock and coloured using {Inktense} and {Graphitint} pencils and water to activate the colours.. the spotty washi tape is one of my favourites from K&Co called Black dots.

Thank you for calling and remember anything is possible if you just believe in yourself.. until next time..

Shabby vintage tag by Gez

I am delighted to share a tag with you today, here on the Creative blog.. lots of inky goodness went into making this tag, it was sooo much fun!

I started with a plain No.8 Ranger {manila tag} and a couple of {Distress ink} pads used to create the background.. (I must remember to take along the wayy pics.. being a midnight crafter the light is always very poor!)

I stamped {Midge} onto vintage paper using {jet black} Archival ink. Used some scraps of music and patterned paper for the background and embellishments and machine stitched around the edges..

I then added some acrylic paint to help bond the different elements and used one of my most favourite, favourite stamps from {Stampotique Originals}..  {Honeycomb background (8116)} Here I swiped the stamp with a gold  {Ranger Paint Dabber} to add texture, making sure I cleaned the stamp as quickly as possible..

Thank you for calling today and stopping to look at my tag.. wishing everyone a lovely weekend.

Tag-tastic by Gez

I am delighted to be sharing a project with you that I made using a large Tim Holtz tag, some scrummy stamps & inks..

here's a sneak peek!

For the base I used one of the large manilla No.8 {tags}

I squirted a generous blob of shaving foam onto my Ranger non stick {craft sheet}

and added a few blobs of Dr Ph. Martin's {Bombay Indian Inks} in Magenta & Teal

then set about swishing the tag through the foam..

To finish the background I added a few flicks of the Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, fine glitter paint to add some sparkle in {Paradise Pink}

The gorgeous flower stamp brand NEW from Stampotique Originals is called Dandelion Duo, it was stamped using Aged Mahogany {Distress Ink} pad and coloured with a Derwent Graphitint pencil in {Autumn Brown}, once dry I added blobs of {Glossy Accents} to each flower. I then stamped Jo Capper-Sandon's {Big Bee} stamp onto the background, coloured the body of each bee with Bombay Inks and added acetate wings.

The sentiment (Wildflower verse) is another new design along with {Mothloved} from {Stampotique Originals} Please note.. Vicki can order any Stampotique stamps simply drop her a line, if you can't see just what you are looking for..

I finished the tag by hand stitching around the outside edge and running the chevron {roller doodle} from Glitz Design down the right hand side using {Jet Black} Archival Ink.

Many thanks for calling today. Have a great weekend. Gez

Ten Minute Tuesday by Gez

I have been greatful for these 10 Minute Tuesday challenges this last couple of weeks.. the school holidays seem to be lasting FOREVER!

Here is my offering for this week.... IF, ONLY it took me just 10 mins to tidy up afterwards!!!!!!

Here's a run down of the products used on my Atc..
... for the background..

Index card & stencil from a local stationers.

I zapped the wet card with a {Heat Tool} from Ranger.. it's so quiet so I don't disturb the children sleeping!

Next I used the {Glitz Roller Doodle}- Cheveron stamp along with Jet Black {Archival Ink} pad.. my card buckled put it soon flattened out again & I have enough background to make either a couple of Atc's or save the other half for later use!

Finished Atc..

I used a couple of gorgeous stamps from {Stampotique Originals} (Upward Bound & Fly) both available for order if not in stock.. I edged the Atc with Pearl {Ranger Metallic} paint dabber & added some circles.. the balloon was coloured using gorgeous pencil from {Derwent}.. my first time using Inktense pencils and I am in LOVE!

Thank you for calling.. what will you do with your ten minutes of Tuesday craftytime.. please come and tell us or drop by and visit the biskit barrel.
