I use an Inspiration Journal where I keep images and swatches of colours and try to match them up to the things I have in my stash. This particular spread was based around the two colour combinations which I just love for Christmas.
Pulling things out from my stash threw up some interesting finds. For example, I would never have thought to use the Teresa Collins Family Stories papers for a Christmas project but the colours just work perfectly here.
As I was making more than one tag I went for the masterboard technique for quickness and my first layer was to roll and swipe Dylusions paints across the surface.
I used the gorgeous Holiday Knit stencil by Tim Holtz and Dylusions spray in Postbox Red
turning the stencil over after each spray to stamp the remaining in onto the background. I added a few stars with of course Festive Berries Distress ink.
Once they were all cut into tags they started to look better.
I also added some stars to the background with Crackle texture paste by Finnabair then created a little cluster with a doily, lace, washi tape and cut star shapes from patterned paper.
I hope you enjoyed this first designer presentation, there are still another eleven to go so keep checking back.
By leaving a comment on all twelve of the designer blogs you could win yourself a fabulous prize of a mixed media kit so you don't want to miss out.
Happy December

Look at the professional... moodboard, sample designs etc.. all neat in a journal. I guess this is what separate the Artists from the dabblers! Love the mixed media look of the tags.
