Embossing part 2 - with Valentine inspiration.

It's Valentines day and for this, part two of my embossing workshop, I'm going to take a slightly different course and do a little dry embossing instead using Claudine Hellmuth sticky backed canvas.

The canvas sheets hold their shape perfectly when put through an embossing machine and it's possible to achieve many different looks using paint and ink.

After cutting my heart I painted it a soft pink with acrylic paint before putting it through my embossing folder.

I used my finger to rub over a little white, leaving the depressions in the darker pink colour.

When that was dry I rubbed over again (still with a finger) with some Inka Gold cream but gold acrylic works just as well.

In these three other examples I've managed to create different finishes using different products. In this first one the base is pink acrylic and the top layer is the same pink mixed with white for a much softer look.

In this one the base is black acrylic and the top layer is silver which gives it a brushed metal look. Interesting considering it's fabric.  I'll be back to that one.

This one is Distress ink with more Inka gold rubbed over the top.

The background of my canvas is layers of music papers, white acrylic, Distress Crackle paint - Rock candy, Distress ink - Worn lipstick and some stamping. As well as the heart I've added three little Crystals from Prima and hung three more Genie stones also from Prima.

You remember that black and silver ATC size piece?  Well here it is sewn and added to a card.

Happy Valentines Day.

I'll be back next week with part three and back to using embossing powder.
